About the Project
This project involved the removal of textured decorative coatings from the walls and ceilings of a derelict building prior to it being developed in to luxury apartments. In addition to the removal of textured coatings we removed thermal insulation from a boiler room, followed by a decontamination of the basement plant rooms.
Working within a derelict building that had been unoccupied for a number of years and had subsequently been used as a long established squat presented challenges. The site had to be secured to prevent unauthorised access and a full site established as there were no facilities available on site. This included the use of temporary power generation units.
