About the Project
Lauderdale House is a grade 2 listed building that was built in the 16th Century. It is steeped in history and has had many illustrious visitors over the years. Adams Environmental were appointed by the clients agent, Fanshawe LLP, to carry out a refurbishment asbestos survey. Decontaminate provided assistance to Adams with opening up works during the survey and reinstatement after. The survey identified asbestos thermal insulation to pipework within the basement, asbestos insulation board panelling to doors, walls and ceilings and asbestos insulation board debris within the floor voids. The most unique element of this project involved the removal of a bath believed to have been used by Nell Gwyn during her time at the house. Our carpenters numbered, labelled and photographed the bath panels before removing them under controlled conditions. The panels were then wrapped and carefully packed into storage boxes for reinstatement.
